Celebrating 25 Years

March 8th, 2019 marks GraVoc’s 25th year of service! In 1994, documents were finalized for a C Corporation under the name GraVoc Associates, Inc. Since then, our goal has been, and will always be, to help solve business problems. Over the past 25 years, technology has advanced in ways we have never imagined. New technology motivates us to further our learning so that we may continue to provide unmatched services. Every year we have invested extensively in the training and certification of our staff assuring our customers that we are both current in our knowledge and properly trained. We are beyond proud to be celebrating our 25th year of service and look forward to the successful years to follow. In 2014, we celebrated our 20th Anniversary and have had big things happen since then!

Below we look back on the past 5 years and some of our top highlights!

We Moved!

In the fall of 2016, we moved our office from 81 Main Street to 10 Centennial Drive in Peabody! We were thrilled to move to our new office which gave us the necessary space and resources we needed to grow. Our new 15,000 square-foot state of the art facility is complete with a full green-screen video production studio, workshops and a 45 person training room.  Prior to 81 Main Street, we were located at 49 Lowell Street in Peabody and 365 Chatham Street in Lynn.

New Team Members!

Since our 20th anniversary, we have doubled in size! Each of our 4 practices grew throughout the past 5 years which allowed us to welcome over 20 new employees.  Each new team member brought a different talent to the table which added tremendous value to our company. Awards & Recognitions

Our team was honored to have received numerous awards and recognitions throughout the past 5 years including 10 Banker & Tradesman ‘Best Of’ awards, the 2018 YMCA of Metro North Community Partner of the Year, and more. Our CEO, David Gravel, and Vice President, Cathy Gravel, also received the NSCAP 2018 Frederick E. Berry Community Service Award and was recognized as two of the 2016 North Shore Distinguished Leaders by the North Shore Chamber of Commerce! Our VP of Information Technology and Security, Nate Gravel, was asked to join the board for the North Shore Chamber as well as The Provident Bank. Our VP of Business Development, Dan Johnson, also became a member of the Treasurers’ Club of Boston.

New Services

Since our 20th anniversary we have added new services and solutions to keep up with the changing technology landscape. One of our most popular new services came in early 2015 when we received our FAA-333 drone certification. This certification allowed our Creative Technology team to provide drone services for businesses throughout New England. Our Creative Technology team also broke ground within the Virtual Reality world as well as Augmented Reality. Our Software Solutions team stayed current with new and updated Business Applications, Cloud & Productivity solutions, Business Intelligence & Analytics applications and also further enhanced our custom software development services. Our Information Security team began providing more web penetration testing services specifically for cloud applications such as AWS and Azure. They also began providing more digital forensics services to customers as well as HITRUST and ISO/IEC 27001 certification preparation services. Our Information Technology team has been busy as well by expanding our hosting services and providing more cloud migrations.

Certifications & Trainings

Our team has been hard at work keeping up-to-date with the necessary training and certifications needed for our fields. Our Software Solutions team received over 30 certifications from Microsoft including certifications within Dynamics, Dynamics 365, Office, Office 365, Azure, Microsoft SQL, SharePoint and more! Our team member David Laster, was named one of the top Dynamics Credentialed Professionals in the nation which landed GraVoc on a list of elite professionals who have achieved the Advanced Credentialed Professional designation for Microsoft Dynamics GP! Today, GraVoc remains a Silver ERP Solutions Partner and a Silver SMB Cloud Solutions Provider.

Our Information Technology team stayed up-to-date with the changing technology landscape and also received certifications from Microsoft. They took part in trainings and workshops for Nimble as well. Our Information Security team gained several new certifications. Patrick Avery received his CISA and Mike Kannan became a Certified Ethical Hacker as well as achieved his CCNA. Brian Brunelle graduated from Southern New Hampshire University and received his Master of Science in Information Technology with a concentration in Information Security as well as achieving EC-Council’s Certified Incident Handler certification! In early 2015, our Creative Technology team became one of the area’s first certified FAA-333 approved drone vendors, allowing us to take our video production services to new heights. Our Creative Technology team also became an Apple Developer and received the Google AdWords Certification.

Getting Involved in Our Community

Some of our proudest moments throughout the past 5 years stem from our community involvement. We believe it’s important to get involved within your community, whether that’s volunteering, raising funds, donating resources, etc., there is always something that can be done! Some community events and programs we’ve been involved with over the past 5 years have been the Boston Children’s Hospital Winter Wonderland,  Burlington High School & Peabody Education Foundation Career Speaker Series, YMCA of Metro North’s Where in the World Event, Santa’s Magic, Progeria Research Foundation, Citizens Inn and more!

Hosted Workshops & Training Events

With our new office came more space and opportunities! Our training room has played host to many events since 2016. We hosted our own events such as our Slack workshop, Information Security & GDPR forum, Cloud ERP forum, and our Video Production workshop. We also welcomed businesses and organizations to utilize our training room for their own events and trainings such as the Salem Five Breakfast Security forum as well as meetings for the North Shore Chamber of Commerce, Lyon-Waugh Auto Group, North Shore Technology Council and more!

In the Media

GraVoc was featured in several media articles and outlets over the past 5 years. In October of 2017, Salem Five interviewed us for their Business Spotlight for the Boston Business Journal, the article was entitled  ‘Technology consulting firm uses home-grown talent to carve out its own niches‘. We were also featured in articles for Bank Director Magazine, Insurance Journal, Babson Magazine, and more!

Our Creative Technology team joined several podcasts and radio shows discussing topics from video production to media technology. Brian Gravel was invited to join a panel of drone experts for a WGBH News Facebook Live stream from the Boston Public Library where they discussed the ever-evolving drone industry. Brian was also featured on the SaviorLabs Edge of Innovation podcast and was joined by GraVoc team members Michael Sirois and Jade Brewer for a segment on Route 1 Magazine Radio Show on NorthShore 104.9.
