Error message regarding GP and Word
We value our Dynamics GP customers greatly and wanted you to be aware of an issue with a recent Microsoft Office update (9/2020) that could interfere with the ability to print the Word-based, or Word Templates from the application. We have had a few customers encounter this issue already. If you see the following error when generating Word documents from Great Plains, then you are affected.
You are able to print the original, standard GP-based reports, however, should the Office update have already been deployed then you are already impacted. Fortunately, there is nothing wrong with Dynamics GP, itself.
This occurs on any Office version past build 13127.20408, but here are the technical details and official Dynamics GP post behind the recent problem; it does require rolling back the subsequent patches to gain the Word-based functionality back: https://community.dynamics.com/gp/b/dynamicsgp/posts/word-templates-will-not-email-print-after-office-update
