The Boys & Girls Clubs of Dorchester, in collaboration with the Martin Richard Foundation, is planning to build a one-of-a-kind, multi-level youth development hub, The Fieldhouse+, on Mount Vernon Street in Dorchester, Boston. This development will create a vibrant space that is inclusive and fosters learning for Boston’s kids and communities.

To support this ambitious project, the organizations are running a capital campaign to raise $75 million. After partnering with Honor Code Creative on new branding for the campaign, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Dorchester approached GraVoc to design a WordPress website to engage donors.

The Light Foundation Logo

The new website for The Fieldhouse+ needed a dynamic and vibrant design to build on content geared toward impact awareness. Our team began revamping the website design by adding images, background patterns, and illustrations to deliver a more engaging visual experience. We also incorporated the new The Fieldhouse+ campaign colors and fonts across the website, leveraging vivid orange accents to direct user attention to key numbers and content.

To engage donors as soon as they land on the homepage, major emphasis was placed on communicating the ‘big idea’ behind The Fieldhouse+. The banner features a still rendering of The Fieldhouse+, followed below by an architectural animation of the space, allowing site visitors to visualize the design of the project. As visitors scroll through the homepage, they can learn more about the community benefits of the project.

Our team also created clearly defined webpages to provide deeper content on the project’s big idea and impact. On the ‘Big Idea’ webpage, we added image galleries with still renderings of The Fieldhouse+ along with content around features of the space that will make it accessible, flexible, and intentional.

The ‘Impact’ webpage features bold, eye-catching text blocks with powerful messaging that succinctly conveys the impact of The Fieldhouse+ and rallies donors to get involved. This webpage also focuses on the contributions of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Dorchester to the community. Content is presented in a clean and browsable layout, allowing users to easily grasp the benefits of the Clubs and the demographics it serves.

We also added a ‘Partnership’ webpage that talks about the longstanding collaboration between Boys & Girls Clubs of Dorchester and the Martin Richard Foundation to support children of all backgrounds and abilities.

Finally, the ‘Join the Movement’ webpage provides site visitors with ways to donate and help the organizations reach their capital campaign goal of $75 million to make The Fieldhouse+ ‘big idea’ a reality. Our team also added an FAQ section in an expandable text block to answer common questions about donating. Clicking on the webpage’s ‘Donate Now’ button takes site visitors to a payment platform where they can submit their contributions.

Our team is thrilled with the look and feel of the new The Fieldhouse+ website! The new website is a great asset for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Dorchester and the Martin Richard Foundation’s capital campaign. In-depth content is complemented by a highly visual and dynamic design that engages donors to invest in the community by supporting The Fieldhouse+ project. And, the website is backed by the WordPress CMS, allowing for a frictionless user experience on the front-end and back-end. We look forward to future creative projects with Boys & Girls Clubs of Dorchester and the Martin Richard Foundation!
