Western Visions is the National Museum of Wildlife Art’s largest and longest-running fundraiser and is one of the signature events of the Jackson Hole Fall Arts Festival. This year’s hybrid art show runs from September 10th through October 2nd and features a wide selection of art for sale through a live auction and intent to purchase sale.

The National Museum of Wildlife Art approached our team in 2021 about developing custom, digital technology for this hybrid art show. The Western Visions art show had traditionally been held in-person, however, after COVID hit in 2020, the Museum had to reimagine their format to allow for in-person and virtual attendees.

GraVoc assisted by providing custom cloud application development services, which included a concierge app that generates QR codes for attendees and allows the National Museum of Wildlife Art staff to scan attendees’ QR codes to submit bids on their behalf. We also developed another cloud application that acts as a front-end display to showcase auction winners the night of the event. Along with cloud application development, we also designed a beautifully dynamic website to market the event, showcase the artwork collection, and sell tickets.

The Western Visions website is a centralized, informational hub for the event. The website includes UX/UI functionality, eCommerce features, event registration, as well as bidding and raffle components. It delivers a frictionless user experience – tailored to ensure site visitors can easily navigate and browse the event agenda, sponsor list, and artwork gallery.

The website’s visual experience was a key focus for our team. We wanted the website to be vibrant and engaging, with a clean design that allows the artwork and event content to take center stage. This approach influenced our team’s design decisions throughout the project.  Starting with the homepage, shown above, we used vivid shades of red and blue to highlight content about the event as well as draw user attention to calls-to-action, including ‘Register Now’ buttons. The color palette also helped enhance the warm-toned photography on the homepage. The homepage is easy to navigate with subtle visual cues that guide users to explore information on the event’s history, agenda, ways to attend, and artwork.

Since Western Visions is a hybrid event, our team developed a custom, searchable gallery for the website so virtual attendees could browse the wide range of contemporary and traditional artwork collection available for the event’s ‘Intent to Purchase’ draw and ‘Live Auction.’ Attendees can sort or filter images in the gallery to customize their view and find a desired piece of artwork. All artwork in the gallery is organized using eye-catching image cards that display the piece’s title, estimated price, and artist. Site visitors can further click into each card for more details on the selected artwork.

Implementing integrated eCommerce functionality on the website was key to ensure site visitors registered for the event. Western Visions offers four types of tickets to in-person, virtual, and proxy attendees. On the ‘Register’ webpage, users can find detailed information on each ticket type along with price and availability. This page also features a bright and highly visual countdown to the event.

To deliver a fast and frictionless registration experience, our team designed a user-friendly ‘checkout’ process. Users can add their desired ticket/sponsorship option and quantity to the cart and provide their contact as well as billing information to place an order.

The Western Visions art show is sponsored by over 25 businesses and individual donors. To showcase and thank these generous donors, we designed a clean and eye-catching ‘Sponsors’ webpage that features logos and links to company websites.

We are thrilled with the final look and feel of the Western Visions event website. The website is a user-friendly and trustworthy resource for both in-person and virtual attendees looking to browse information on the event or the artwork collection. The intuitive registration process makes the website a powerful eCommerce engine for Western Visions’ ticket sales.

Last year, our team traveled to Jackson Hole, Wyoming to provide on-site technology assistance for the Western Vision event. Check out the recap video below of the custom technology that we created! We look forward to a long, creative partnership with the National Museum of Wildlife Art to ensure Western Visions’ continued success!
