The Peabody Historical Society & Museum was founded in 1896 with a mission to facilitate the preservation, study, and enjoyment of Peabody’s cultural heritage. The Society needed a modern and user-friendly website to house informational content on its programs, rentals, properties, and more. So, the Society approached our team about a website redesign.

Using WordPress, our team completely refreshed the overall look and feel of the website. The Peabody Historical Society & Museum’s new website features enhanced and visually engaging webpages that help build user awareness and appreciation of the Society’s properties and collections.

Our team revamped the website design – adding big, beautiful photography and using warm colors to match the vibrancy of the Society’s collections and properties. The new website’s responsive and mobile-friendly design allows for frictionless browsing of the organization’s collections, rentals, programs, and more, across devices.

The website’s homepage delivers an engaging user experience, opening with a vivid image of the General Gideon Foster House, which is also the Society’s headquarters. Call-to-action buttons on the homepage encourage site visitors to become a member, volunteer, donate, or explore the Society’s exhibits, wedding rentals, history, and blog.

The ‘Rentals’ section is one of the main highlights of the website. Rental of the Smith Barn for weddings and corporate events is a one of the main sources of funding for the Society. So, it was important for our team to design engaging and visual webpages centered around the Smith Barn to generate customer interest in renting the venue.

The ‘Weddings at the Smith Barn’ webpage communicates the ‘wow’ factor of the venue through gorgeous, warm-toned photos and informational content. From details on rental costs to directions to the venue, site visitors can easily navigate to and browse key content on the different ‘Rentals’ webpages.

Along with the ‘Rentals’ section, our team also designed visually appealing content areas to showcase the Society’s programs, exhibits, and collections. The ‘Programs & Exhibits’ webpage provide users with an overview of the Society’s scheduled lectures, workshops, events, tours, and exhibits.
Similarly, the ‘Collections’ webpage allows site visitors to explore the Society’s extensive selection of costumes, textiles, furniture, paintings, and more. On this webpage, our team linked to the Society’s searchable online collections database to ensure users can quickly access this information.
The new website is also a user-friendly resource for site visitors looking to tour the Society’s properties or get involved. Users can seamlessly locate the Society’s hours, locations, and admissions details under the ‘Visit’ section or explore ways to become a member, volunteer, or intern with the Society through the ‘Get Involved’ webpages.

We are thrilled with the Peabody Historical Society & Museum’s redesigned website! The website’s design is clean and vibrant – a big move away from its previous look and feel. Strong UI/UX ensures site visitors can seamlessly discover and browse relevant content on the Society’s programs, rentals, hours and locations, and more. We look forward to working with the Peabody Historical Society & Museum on future creative projects!
