GraVoc’s Creative Technology team collaborated with the Light Foundation to reimagine and enhance their website. Established by former NFL player and 3x Superbowl Champion, Matt Light, and his wife Susie, the Light Foundation provides young adults with outdoor and hands-on learning opportunities to help them develop the skills and mindset they need to build a meaningful future. The focus of this project was to provide the Light Foundation with a user-friendly and engaging digital platform to raise awareness of its programs and encourage website visitors to get involved as donors, sponsors, or volunteers.

Our team used WordPress to design custom, mobile-friendly templates that matched the Light Foundation’s branding. Throughout the website, our team incorporated eye-catching photos and videos to give visitors an authentic look at the foundation’s programs and impact.

For instance, the website’s homepage banner featured an aesthetic video montage showcasing footage from the foundation’s different programs in action. To drive visitor engagement, the dynamic homepage also included multiple calls-to-action, inviting users to learn more about the foundation’s mission, check out its blog and news updates, become a corporate partner, or subscribe to the Light Foundation’s newsletter.

The Light Foundation’s new website gives visitors a clear overview of its programs through engaging content, testimonials, visuals, calls-to-action, and easy-to-use online forms. Some of the programs offered by the Light Foundation are Camp Vohokase, Timber Frame Leadership Camp, Youth Wild Turkey Hunts and more. Creating dedicated webpages for each program allowed the foundation to communicate the program’s scope and impact in more detail to help build a meaningful connection with its audience and drive visitor conversions.
Along with creating dedicated program webpages, our team also designed an ‘Our Impact’ section which featured stories on young adults who attended the foundation’s Camp Vohokase program and included an organized media library showcasing their most recent videos. A key component of this section was the ‘Results’ webpage, which further communicated the impact of the Light Foundation’s work through numbers as well as testimonials from young adults and parents.
To further help the foundation forge a connection with visitors through engaging storytelling, we designed a ‘Who We Are’ section. The section includes webpages with detailed content on the nonprofit’s mission and values. We added a ‘Meet the Lights’ webpage under this section which introduced visitors to Matt and Susie Light and talked about their family’s passion for their foundation.
Along with drawing attention to the foundation’s mission and programs, it was also important to ensure that the new website provided visitors with clear conversion paths to facilitate their involvement as donors, volunteers, or sponsors. To achieve this, we created a comprehensive ‘Get Involved’ section detailing multiple ways visitors could engage with or support the Light Foundation.

Key features of this section were the user-friendly ‘donation’ and ‘host a fundraiser’ forms. The donation form allowed users to choose an amount, frequency, payment method, and specify which Light Foundation program/event they wanted to donate to. Our team also included a ‘Donate’ button at the top of the navigation menu for easy user access.  Similarly, the ‘host a fundraiser’ form provided groups and organizations with a streamlined, online resource to connect with the Light Foundation and help raise funds to support its mission.

The Light Foundation hosts a variety of fundraising events throughout the year including Corporate Training Day, the Matt Light Celebrity Shoot-Out, Gauntlet Mud Run and their upcoming comedy event, Fool’s Night Out. To help promote these exciting fundraisers, our team created an ‘Attend an Event’ webpage. This webpage grouped events by the Light Foundation’s primary locations of New England and Ohio and provided visitors with an overview of each event along with date, venue, and links to buy tickets, become a sponsor, register, or reserve a spot.
The Light Foundation’s new website gives visitors a full glimpse into how their mission, programs and events help to shape our future generations. The site also enables the foundation’s team to see a 360° view of how their organization is performing in terms of donations, sponsors and volunteers under one roof.
