With the holidays behind them, the employees of GraVoc Associates, Inc. look forward to an exciting start of the New Year. Members of the Information Security practice will be keeping busy over the next few weeks; next Wednesday Director of Information Security Nathaniel Gravel and associate Dan Vassallo will be attending the “Network Offense and Defense” seminar in Dedham, hosted by the New England Chapter of ISACA. The session, which will feature several speakers and live hacking demonstrations, promises to be informative and engaging.
Gravel and Vassallo will then head down to Connecticut to represent GraVoc at the New England Mortgage Expo held at Foxwoods Casino. GraVoc is serving as an Event Sponsor for the exhibition, which is the largest of its kind in New England. The seminars will focus on many of the challenges that today’s financial institutions face; since banks and credit unions make up a majority of the customers for GraVoc’s Information Security practice, the members of the practice make a point to stay informed about such relevant issues.
Keeping up with the latest developments in information security and risk management often allows the Information Security team to do some traveling; just last month Gravel attended the 9th Annual ISACA Symposium in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Gravel was able to utilize his master’s degree in Spanish while attending lectures on data loss prevention, security breaches, and virtualization management, all of which are significant aspects of GraVoc’s Information Security practice.
Closer to home, GraVoc had more to celebrate amidst the holiday season: Office Manager Constance Leaver welcomed a new grandson on December 28th. The addition of baby boy, James, to the family makes Constance the proud grandmother of two.
