Tell us a little bit about yourself & what you do at GraVoc:

My name is Tracy DeRosa, and I live in Attleboro, Massachusetts. I have worked at GraVoc for nearly 12 years now. Here, I am the Practice Lead for Infrastructure and Cloud services, so I oversee all projects and work with customers on upgrades. I will go in and assess their office space and aging tech infrastructure to give them recommendations on how to future-proof their business. I work with HP servers, Dell servers, Cisco switches, HP switches, and a lot of name-brand vendors for our infrastructure projects.

In addition, I work with our managed IT services team to ensure our customers’ infrastructure is upgraded.

What drew you to pursue a career in IT?

Growing up, I was always that kid that wanted to take things apart. I would take apart VCRs and try to fix them. When I started going to school for other things, I was initially going for psychology, I realized that is not what I wanted to do. A friend of mine was going to ITT Technical Institute, and I decided to give it a shot. The minute I started doing it, I loved it. And, the rest is history!

What do you enjoy the most about working for GraVoc?

When I first started working at GraVoc, there were only 26 employees, and the company was just getting off the ground and becoming much bigger. Since then, it’s been great to grow with the company and gain more responsibilities. I love that the culture is very family-oriented, and the benefits are great. Overall, it’s a very well-balanced place to work.

Where are we likely to find you outside of work?

I’m a homebody! I have 6 dogs and 4 cats, so often, I’ll be hanging around with them in the backyard. I also enjoy being out in nature, so I like to camp and hike.

As more businesses move toward remote and hybrid work, what’s one piece of IT/tech advice you’d give them to keep operations running smoothly?

With the experience of us as a company and working with customers that previously did not have remote access, I would say businesses should make sure their equipment is up-to-date and their employees have a secure way to remote into their environment.

What’s a fun fact about yourself?

I enjoy fitness. I have done CrossFit in the past. I have also participated in Spartan races, so I like doing these types of physical activities. I enjoy pushing myself to try something new!
