November is a month focused on giving thanks.  With both Giving Tuesday and Thanksgiving on the horizon, we thought it would be a great time to highlight some of the wonderful nonprofits we work with.  It’s no secret that GraVoc supports many local and national nonprofits, and we are always giving back where we can.  We work with many nonprofits by providing technology services to help solve their operational challenges, including cloud application development.

Check out these nonprofit success stories that we are super proud of:

The Nonprofit:

Easterseals Massachusetts provides services to ensure that children and adults with disabilities have equal opportunities to live, learn, work and play. As part of their offerings, they provide a dedicated staff of clinicians to organizations and community programs throughout the state.

The Challenge:

Easterseals Massachusetts was having a difficult time managing contracts and time tracking for their network of field service clinicians.

The Solution:

GraVoc built a custom cloud application that manages contract and employee information to track and display calls beginning with time entry and cumulating to monthly invoices. Incorporating employee licensing and unique contract styles along with a custom approval process, the information is brought together through a robust reporting module. This application communicates with other technology resources to allow for a full integration of company information.

The Nonprofit:

The Light Foundation was established in 2001 by former NFL player and 3x Superbowl Champion, Matt Light, and his wife Susie, to help young people develop the skills, values, and mindset they need to create a meaningful and productive future.

The Challenge:

The Light Foundation needed assistance with communicating with and tracking progress of campers in their signature youth leadership program, Camp Vohokase.

The Solution:

GraVoc built a custom cloud application that allows campers, parents, teachers, and staff members to communicate, share, and track camper information. With the ability to document their progress over time, adults and campers are able to work together to provide the best support for each individual camper and foster their unique leadership abilities.

The Event & Nonprofit:

The National Museum of Wildlife Art (NMWA) is the nation’s only museum dedicated solely to wildlife art, representing wild animals from around the world. Western Visions® is their largest and longest-running fundraiser and is one of the signature events of the Jackson Hole Fall Arts Festival. Top contemporary wildlife artists and collectors from around the world come together at the Museum in Jackson Hole, Wyoming for the Western Visions show. The show features a wide selection of art for sale and the money raised from this fundraiser supports the Museum.

The Challenge:

The Western Visions Art Show had traditionally been held in-person, however, after COVID hit in 2020, the Museum had to reimagine their format to allow for in-person and virtual attendees. The NMWA needed assistance with bridging the gap between their in-person and remote attendees to create a seamless experience for all.

The Solution:

GraVoc implemented custom web technology on a beautifully designed website to process online auction bids. At the event, in-person attendees had paddles with unique QR codes that NMWA concierge could scan and add bids on the attendees’ behalf through a custom application, which was also built by GraVoc. Because of the “intent to purchase” nature of this auction, GraVoc’s technology randomly selected winners for each auction item and helped close the loop between those in attendance and those who were not.

Customer Feedback:

“We are truly grateful for the seamless collaboration and enthusiasm shown by your crew to take on a new concept and embark into the unknown. Your willingness to explore possible ways to help us reach our goals was an integral part of our event’s success. We appreciated your creativity, patience, insight and sense of humor. We consider you part of our family and are excited to partner with you again in 2022!”

-Michelle Dickson, Director of Programs and Events at the National Museum of Wildlife Art & Stefanie Nishio, Events Coordinator at the National Museum of Wildlife Art

The Nonprofits:

The YMCA of the North Shore- The YMCA of the North Shore includes 7 locations throughout the North Shore of Massachusetts and focuses on strengthening communities, educating and nurturing children, and promoting healthy living.

Progeria Research Foundation – The Progeria Research Foundation is a global nonprofit organization dedicated to developing treatments and, ultimately, a cure for progeria, a congenital disorder.

The Challenge:

The YMCA of the North Shore and The Progeria Research Foundation host their own fundraising gala every year. Both organizations needed assistance with inspiring their attendees with real-time information during the “Fund-a-Need” portion of their events to help boost donation sales.

The Solution:

GraVoc built a custom cloud application that allowed these nonprofits to easily track live donations through a custom entry screen.  Volunteers entered donors’ paddle numbers and their donation amount.  The database was pre-loaded with corresponding donor information, which was then projected on a live results screen that highlighted the total amount raised and displayed donor names.  This real-time experience took the night’s fundraising to the next level and helped surpass previous ‘Fund a Need’ benchmarks and goals.

Customer Feedback:

“We couldn’t have been more pleased with the Fund-A-Need display and the process to develop this solution for our event.  Not only did we raise a record amount during the Fund-A-Need portion of our event, but we also captivated the crowd at the same time.  In the past, we have had varied success in keeping the entire room quiet during the 15 minutes in which we aren’t auctioning off anything fun, but rather just asking our donors for support.  This year, following up on an emotional appeal from our CEO and a moving video presentation, the Fund-A-Need display kept all eyes focused on our auctioneer and our display screens.  Our guests followed along as the total rolled higher and their friends’ names were splashed on the screen.  The room actually applauded when we surpassed our goal and then again when we exceeded the next high watermark.  Not only did the display help us raise a record breaking amount for our Y, but it also helped us keep everyone focused on why they were in the room.”
