GraVoc’s creative technology team developed an ADA-compliant and modern website for the Essex County Community Foundation (ECCF), a Danvers-based nonprofit that’s dedicated to strengthening its communities by managing charitable assets, supporting other nonprofits, and engaging in strategic leadership. The main goals of this website redesign were to enhance the user navigation, highlight the foundation’s work, and centralize resources for both donors and nonprofits.

To start, our team created a multisite environment within WordPress, which allows the ECCF team to easily manage their multiple websites, including their Creative County Initiative and event websites, from a single dashboard. This type of multisite setup is great for businesses or organizations, like the ECCF, that host multiple websites.
Throughout the ECCF website, we incorporated the foundation’s brand colors and fonts to ensure the website design was consistent with their marketing efforts. On the homepage, seen below, we added vivid imagery and streamlined content geared toward the foundation’s mission, impact, systems philanthropy approach, stories of giving, and latest ECCF news. A key goal of the homepage design was to drive users to engage with the foundation. So, our team added multiple, strategic calls-to-action across the homepage, including a prominent ‘Get Involved’ section and a ‘Subscribe to Our Newsletter’ pop-up form.
To help nonprofit organizations easily find a consultant, we created a custom, searchable table on the website to host the ECCF’s online consultant directory. This table lists the consultant’s firm name, website, and email. Users can filter the list or search for a consultant based on their area of needed support. Similarly, our team also built a webpage with a searchable directory of ECCF’s scholarship funds for students.
To collect donations, our team created an easy-to-use donation webpage that allows users to either give to a specific ECCF donor fund or make a contribution to support the foundation’s community leadership work. Once the user selects where they would like to send their donations, they are directed to the ECCF’s donation form.
Our team also developed a comprehensive ‘About ECCF’ section on the website to expand on the foundation’s mission, efforts to advance racial equity and justice, financials, as well as provide event details and videos. We also designed a bright and eye-catching page with headshots and expandable bios of the foundation’s staff and board of trustees to give users insight into the people managing the operations.
