On February 19, 2020, our President and VP David and Cathy Gravel were named the 2019 Elves of the Year by Santa’s Magic Founder & Chairman Jim Nentwig! Santa’s Magic was founded in 1982 by Jim as a way to bring the holiday spirit to his wife who was battling cancer at the time. His wife shortly passed away after and since then, Jim has continued the tradition in her honor. Through the help of community volunteers, Santa’s Magic is able to brighten the lives of hospital patients and their loved ones every Christmas morning.
Santa’s Magic holds a special place within our GraVoc family as we see first hand the care and love that goes into the preparation of making this day so special. Led by David and Cathy Gravel, our team helps Santa’s Magic with filming and producing the event video for their Annual Gala, providing a sound system at the gala, assembling gifts to give out to patients, veterans, and families and even dressing up as Santa himself of Christmas morning. David and Cathy have spearheaded the way and shown our GraVoc team the importance of what it means to volunteer and donate your time and we couldn’t think of two more deserving ‘Elves’ to win this award!
