Good news for the state of Massachusetts. The state’s unemployment rate has dropped to 4.6 percent in May. This was slightly lower than the unemployment rate in April and the lowest it’s been since 2007. Massachusetts Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development stated its new  job estimates from the Bureau of Labor Statistics indicate that Massachusetts has gained 7,400 jobs in May, this marks the ninth consecutive month of job gains!

Here are the statistics of the job growth in Massachusetts, according to the Boston Globe:

Construction – About 3,500 jobs added
Retail – About 1,500 jobs added
Manufacturing– About 600 jobs added
Financial – About 700 jobs added
