The term ‘Content is King’ is often thrown around a lot. What does this mean exactly? ‘Content is King’ means that content rules all. Content is the heart of your website. The content that you produce is the driving force behind the success of your website. Content helps your visitors stay informed, helps search engines recognize and rank you and helps deliver your message. Content can come in a variety of different forms – words, video, audio, photos, interviews, polls, social media and much more.
So how do you know what kind of content to produce? Before producing content you must know who your target audience is. Once you know who your target audience is, you will be able to choose the type of content that will fit that target whether it be a blog post or a video. Finding which platform to display your content on plays a major role in the success of your content as well. After you figure out who your target audience is and which platform is right, ask yourself, what is your message? Make sure that your message is clear and easy to comprehend. Your last paragraph should tie together your message and content. Below are some examples of the type of content that you can produce for your website.
Blogs are a simple way to create material for your website. Search engines LOVE blogs! Frequent keyword-rich blogging can dramatically improve your search engine ranks. When you update your content, search engines are notified. You can find a blog on just about anything, and if you can’t then make one!
Give your business a voice! A great way to create material for your website is by having a podcast. Podcasts are easy to use and fun to listen to. You can talk about anything on your podcast. Share knowledge in your field or talk about breaking news in your industry. You’d be surprised how many people are interested in what you have to say.
Producing content is not hard as long as you have a well thought out plan. By planning out your message, choosing the right vehicle to deliver your message and analyzing your Return on Investments, you will have a better understanding of what works and what doesn’t.
