The walk will take place July 26-28, and in anticipation of the event, the Flip Flop Friends have organized several independent fundraisers; the Susan G. Komen 3-day requires each participant to raise $2,300 prior to the walk.

The Flip Flop Friends team members–Gina Braz-Rocha, Terri Eagar-Garofano, Jeannie Hallinan,  Karen Eagar-Braz, and Cathy Gravel–will be hosting their third annual “Power of Pink” Mother’s Day Walk  on Sunday, May 12th. The walk will start at 9:00 am from Cy Tenney Park in Peabody and will follow a six-mile out-and-back route along the Independence Greenway bike path.  The suggested donation is $10, and participants are encouraged to wear pink.

The following week, on May 19th, the group will host an event at Champions Pub in Peabody. Between the hours of 1:00 and 4:00 pm, visitors to Champions can purchase a $20 steak tip dinner, and a portion of the proceeds from each meal sold will be donated back to the Flip Flop Friends. The group hopes to set up a similar event with Stonewood Tavern in Peabody.

Those who wish to donate directly to the team may do so online by visiting the Flip Flop Friends team pages. Best of luck to Cathy and the Flip Flop Friends!
