The Boston Marathon has always been an important event for the GraVoc family. GraVoc’s Katrina Gravel was running in yesterday’s event.  She crossed the finish line in 2 hours and 59 minutes with her family and friends cheering her on.  She was the third GraVoc employee to run and finish the Boston Marathon following in the footsteps of her father Dave Gravel (Boston Marathon finisher in 2007) and her fiancee Dan Vassallo (Boston Marathon finisher in 2008).  Amongst the vibrancy and energy of runner’s nearing the finish line unfolded an unthinkable act that has tested the spirit and emotion in all of us.  The events that took place at yesterday’s Boston Marathon will certainly never be forgotten.  As we all digested what had transpired yesterday we came across a news article & video about a man, Carlos Arrendondo, who in a moment of crisis and confusion rushed to the aid of the bombing victims.  We realized that less than a year ago we had interviewed that same man for a video we were making about Massachusetts Bay Commuter Rail’s special Memorial Day train. Today we’d like to share two videos with everyone, one is of Katrina nearing the end of the Marathon and one is of clips from our interview with Carlos Arrendondo.  Both of these videos are a reminder of the human spirit, courage, and strength that we all need to overcome emotional events such as this.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and their families in this tough time.
