A bit of early season snowfall and chilly temperatures didn’t stop the running of the first annual “Hoof It for Habitat” 5K in Gloucester this past Sunday. GraVoc Associates served as a sponsor for the race, the proceeds of which will benefit restoration and building projects for low-income families on the North Shore. GraVoc is pleased to support Habitat for Humanity’s mission of providing affordable housing; in addition to race sponsorship, GraVoc also provides lunches for volunteers working on hosing sites in the downtown Peabody area.

GraVoc’s vice president Cathy Gravel participated in Sunday’s race, covering the 3.1 mile course in a time of 31:02 and taking first for her age category. Gravel used the race as part of her training for the Philadelphia Half Marathon on November 20th. The event drew a good-sized crowd for its inaugural race and will hopefully grow in the coming years.
