GraVoc Associates, Inc. is pleased to announce that the company has been chosen as a finalist for one of the Family Business Association (FBA) Awards for Massachusetts 2011. GraVoc is one of five businesses listed as finalists in the First Generation category, which denotes a business that “has at least two full-time family members – one who is an active equity owner and one who is employed by the business –  and has not yet transitioned from one generation to the next” (FBA Awards Program). GraVoc is honored to be considered for this award; winners will be announced at the FBA Awards Dinner in Thursday, November 3rd.

GraVoc meets the criteria for the First Generation Category: David Gravel, who founded the company in 1994, currently serves as GraVoc’s CEO and president, while his wife Cathy is co-owner and vice president. Three of their children – Brian, Nathaniel, and Katrina – are full-time employees, and their youngest daughter Sarah works part-time. Several members of Dave and Cathy’s extended family are on GraVoc’s staff as well. The company was recently featured in a Massachusetts Family Business magazine article that elaborated on the growth of the company and the involvement of the entire family.
