Several GraVoc employees took advantage of the warm temperatures and sunshine this past Saturday to compete in the Progeria Research Foundation’s 10th Annual International Race for Research in Peabody. The race, held less than half a mile from GraVoc’s Peabody office, offered employees an opportunity to enjoy the weather and get some exercise while supporting a good cause.  GraVoc not only served as a “Watering Hole” sponsor, but also fielded a team of runners and walkers at the event.

GraVoc took the top two titles in the race: associate Dan Vassallo of the information security practice took the overall title for a second consecutive year, winning the race in a time of 15:37, while associate Katrina Gravel covered the course in 19:46 to claim the top spot for women. Both runners outpaced their nearest competition by over a minute and a half. Also representing GraVoc were Director of Software Development Michael Roma, associate Paul Lincoln and his wife Tracy, President and CEO Dave Gravel, and Vice President Cathy Gravel, all of whom finished the race in under 30 minutes. For those who didn’t consider running three miles an appealing prospect, a two-mile fun run/walk was also held. Office manager Connie Leaver participated in the walk, as did Director of Information Security Nate Gravel, his fiancée Ashley, and GraVoc’s office mascot Bruiser.
